Our Story

 

Steve's Texas Sauces was born just south of Dallas-Fort Worth back in the 60's where Steve grew up eating at Tex-Mex restaurants like El Chico, Pulido's, Jose's, and El Fenix.  These places had great food, but it was the salsa that set everything up.  While flavor was the main attraction, texture was also important; not too runny, not too chunky.

 

When Steve moved to Colorado in 1982 he couldn't find the great salsa he'd been brought up on, but starting a dental practice and raising a family of three boys consumed his time for the next 25 years.

 

In 2007 he finally had the time to start developing his own salsa which he shared with family and friends.  It was an immediate hit.  In 2013 Steve crafted his own Bar-Be-Q sauce, again looking for that great Texas taste.

 

One day he decided to add some Bar-Be-Q to his salsa and discovered a very distinct flavor unlike anything on the market.  He called it Sal-Sa-Q, a unique blend of bold flavors in the Southwest tradition he grew up with.  By 2014 the response was so positive a decision was made to go commercial.  

 

So here we are, Steve's Texas Sauces, with our great tasting Sal-Sa-Q and Bar-Be-Q that are Colorado made...Texas born.  We hope they add unique flavor and enjoyment to your eating experience!
